As part of our monthly Wellbeing Webinar Series, Sequoia had a conversation with Kara McCall, Senior Director of Member Operations at Cleo, and Dr. Jason Chirichigno, Board certified internal medicine physician at Galileo, to discuss the topic of “Your Health, Your Journey: Taking Charge of Your Healthcare.”

Our discussion covered key aspects of taking charge of your healthcare, including understanding how to navigate the healthcare system, empowering yourself with knowledge, and advocating for your health needs.

You can catch up by viewing the recording.

Here are a few key takeaways from the webinar:

  • Understand Your Health Journey: Empower yourself by understanding your health history and current needs. Knowledge is key to making informed decisions.
  • Advocate for Your Health: Don’t hesitate to ask questions, seek second opinions, and make sure your healthcare provider addresses your concerns. Remember that your care physicians are not the only ones who play a part in your health. You are an active participant as well!
  • Remember to use the B.R.A.I.N.S. acronym: Advocating for yourself and asking the important questions of Benefits, Risks, Alternatives, Intuition, (what happens if we/I do) Nothing, and Second Opinion anytime you are faced with the option of a procedure or a treatment plan.
  • Preventive Care is Essential and Advocating for Your Family’s Health Is Vital: Regular check-ups and screenings are vital to catching potential health issues early and maintaining long-term health. Communicating with your care provider with confidence and asking for what will make the most sense for you and your loved ones will model these expectations in a medical setting for your family.

Registration for our next monthly webinar, “Your Authentic Career Path” is now open. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, at 10 am PST/1 pm EST. Registration is available at this link.
