As part of our monthly Wellbeing Webinar Series, Sequoia partnered with Ryan Englestad from Headspace Health, to discuss this month’s topic, “Your Mental Health at Work.”

During the conversation, we learned how our work and mental health can affect each other, tips and tools to leverage as coping strategies while interacting with co-workers, teams, the work you do, and so much more!

Here are a few key takeaways from the webinar:

  • Stress can manifest at work in both positive and negative ways. By gaining self-awareness, we can better recognize when stress may be unproductive and how to start making plans to counter negative or unproductive stress.
  • Relationships are a vital part of our wellbeing, and making sure we cultivate meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging at work is vital. Finding ways to build social connections in all different types of working environments whether it be hybrid, remote, or in person is an important part of our mental health and wellbeing.
  • Burnout is highlighted by emotional exhaustion, generalized negativity or cynicism, and a perception of professional inefficacy. Burnout can affect anyone, and it is important to incorporate consistent self-care into our work routines and not wait for vacation or “more convenient times.”
