Continuing with our monthly Wellbeing Webinar Series, Sequoia partnered with Dr. Sunny Jun, Co- Founder and Co-Medical Director of CCRM Fertility Clinic San Francisco, where she discussed diverse paths to parenthood.

Dr. Jun went over many different topics encompassing fertility health, options for LGBTQ+ couples, and how to support those around you who are currently exploring the paths to parenthood.

You can catch up by viewing the recording and reviewing a few key takeaways from the webinar:

  • Dr. Jun suggested that regardless of whether you are actively looking to expand your family or merely starting to think about it, it is important to talk to your general practitioner or a fertility specialist about testing both male and female partners for their fertility health.
This can be done with your General Practitioner, an OBGYN, a Urologist, or through a Fertility Specialist/Clinic.
  • Dr. Jun shared that there are many options for LGBTQ+ couples looking to start the path to parenthood and grow their families. Gestational carrier, preservation, adoption, and pregnancy are all options that are important to discuss with your doctor.
  • Dr. Jun went over the process of egg and sperm preservation as well as what to expect during this process. Preservation is only one part of the process of being proactive with your fertility health. Dr. Jun advocated for having visibility to your fertility health through testing in conjunction with preservation treatments.
  • Dr. Jun emphasized the importance of being supportive of those around you currently exploring their family forming options, noting that patients who have a strong support system in their workplace will experience far less stress during their journey.
