Announcing the arrival of Jill Neilson and Joe LaSorte to Sequoia

The Sequoia Way shapes our unique approach to client service. It is defined by several themes important to our culture, some of which are seasonal, some yearly, and some have spanned more than a decade. But nothing has proven more integral and timeless to our collective mindset than our promise to “come through for people who put their trust in us, no matter what.” This theme has strengthened our commitment to service, our culture of innovation, and even our approach to management and scaling our business. To me, “coming through” is about building and maintaining trust, understanding the true needs of a business and its people, and working smarter so we are always there to deliver on the promise.

Sequoia’s promise has not only inspired new methods for taking care of clients, like our Sequoia Mobile App and the Sequoia Canopy Platform that fuels it, but it has also helped us build a winning team that embodies our mission. We continue to attract industry-leading talent because they see like-minded individuals with a common passion for service. I am always filled with pride at the caliber of Sequoia Fit people that choose to join us. In the last 18 months, we’ve welcomed many new team members to our management and leadership group including Steve Kim as Chief Legal & Administration Officer, Lesley Grady as VP of Services, Suzette Germano as VP of Risk Management Services, and Di Hall as Chief Operating Officer.

This week, we are excited to announce the arrival of two new team members to Sequoia: Jill Neilson, as Vice President of Global Services and Joe LaSorte as Vice President of Global Consulting. Jill was formerly Managing Director, International Consulting & Strategy at Conduent and Joe was formerly Principal, Global Consulting Services at Conduent. Both Jill and Joe bring their immense enterprise experience and leadership to Sequoia and will help enhance and expand our Global Benefits Services for clients of every size.

From the first time I met Jill four years ago, she stood out as a person of integrity, vision, and get-it-done leadership. She is a true collaborator and coordinator at a global scale. With over 30 years of deep relationship building across the world and the proven ability to lead complex engagements and delivery teams, she’s built a global network and service offerings to support the most demanding global enterprise clients. Her hands-on approach and commitment to service are just a few of her many strengths that align with the Sequoia Way.

Joe is a highly experienced relationship manager and global total rewards consultant. He has worked with clients in a wide range of industries on all aspects of the design, implementation, communication, and administration of their employee benefit, compensation, and human resources plans worldwide. With very strong client management and business development skills, Joe focuses on large, complex global consulting relationships. His experience includes extensive expatriate postings in Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean region, and on-site client work in over 40 countries.

Unifying domestic and global benefits at both a strategic and administrative level has always been the vision for Sequoia. As we integrate Jill and Joe into our team and advance our Global Services practice, I am excited about how we will find new ways to come through for our growing client base and especially for their global and traveling workforce.

Greg Golub – As Sequoia CEO, Greg is responsible for constituting the vision and future of the company, leading the management team, and strengthening our client-centric culture as Sequoia scales. Greg also spends much of his time studying industry trends, serving on advisory boards and figuring out what changes in our industry will serve as opportunities for our clients.
